Features of The Original Sherman Cooker Fire Pit Grill:
CAST IRON FIRE PIT, BAKED ENAMEL FINISH
The three large air flues at the base of the fire pit provide the draft space needed to accomplish a hot fire, producing less smoke.
BRASS FASTENER TOOL, MULTI-PURPOSE
This tool is to be used to tighten the stainless-steel segment fasteners. It is made with a 9/16 hex machined into the working surface.
ADJUSTABLE POLE CLAMP
Stainless Steel construction, die spring to compensate for pipe diameter tolerances. Large handle to grip for ease of operation.
SOLID CAST IRON COOKING GRATE
Made to swing out and away from the fire, so you can load, flip and serve away from direct heat. Comes pre-seasoned with flaxseed oil.
EASE OF PORTABILITY
The fire pit alone weighs 58 lbs, which makes it quite portable. If 58 pounds is too heavy, the three segments, weighing 19 pounds each, can be disassembled and reassembled on site with the included Brass Fastener Tool.

The Story of The Original Sherman Cookers:
The story of the Original Sherman Cookers begins in 2008 at a log cabin in the small town of Sherman, Maine. The thoughtful gift of a cast iron cooking grate sparked the inspiration to build something the cabin desperately needed, an outdoor fire pit that doubled as an open flame grill. This way no one was ever left out while tending to a gas grill and everyone could participate in the casual cooking with a front row seat.
If we only knew then what that simple gift of a cast iron grate from Pépère would evolve into...The original prototype for the fire pit cooker was constructed of a large, steel truck tire rim as the fire pit, with a steel vertical pipe bolted to the side and the cast iron grate attached to that. It wasn’t perfect or pretty, but it sure was a conversation starter with a ton of potential. After over a decade of use and innovation, trial and error, tweaks and opinions that one-of-a-kind fire pit has evolved into what we are now proud to call the Original Sherman Cooker, an heirloom product capable of being passed down from generation to generation.
